House Carpenter

The house carpenter can have many jobs to do when building a house. Many carpenters specialize in framing, and rough wood work. Some carpenters do nothing but finishing work like cabinets and stairs.

A framer is a house carpenter that does the basic “framing” of a home. This includes building the basic structures of the walls, floors, and roof of a structure. They are also responsible for correctly building window and door jams.

A finish carpenter is a house carpenter that does the “finishing” work once a home has been constructed. Kitchen and bathroom cabinets are often built by these specialists; as are many stairways and any wooden accents or ornamentation. A finish carpenter can often help you design many of these features.
